WIDE PLANK FLOORING
END-GRAIN COBBLE BLOCK
Our cobble block squares are cut from the ends of beams, as if looking down into the center of the beam. Hence the term "end grain." This provides a lasting durability that is unsurpassed by regular plank flooring. It is an ideal alternative to plank flooring for kitchens, foyers, mudrooms, sun porches and the like. We offer cobble blocks in two different species - Antique Oak and Antique Heart Pine. We mill the blocks to a thickness of 4/4" before any sanding is done. Upon installation, the blocks should be a heavy 3/4". We also offer them in three stages of completion, allowing this floor to be remarkably affordable. The blocks do require a coat of stain and at least two coats of finish. We recommend installing this flooring over sub-floors, using spacers as if tiling, and using a mixture of sawdust and grout or resin material that can be purchased at any home improvement store. The sawdust is provided to you by Boards & Beams with delivery of your blocks. It's a terrific look that will awe everyone who sees it in your home!
